NORTHGRID is a carrier-neutral colocation hall on Ironvale Road. Single units up to full 47U racks, A and B feeds from separate boards, closed cold aisle, and cross-connects patched within one working day.
Every line below is the monthly price plus the power it includes. Nothing is quoted per request: if you need more draw than the line carries, the extra kilowatt is metered at a published rate.
A single server in a shared, locked rack in row B. Front and rear access by appointment, one power feed with a metered second feed available.
Ten units behind your own perforated door inside a shared cabinet. Two PDU outlets per feed, one cross-connect included in the first month.
The smallest footprint that still takes a top-of-rack switch, a firewall pair and a tape unit without fighting for depth. 1070 mm cabinets throughout.
A cabinet of your own in row A or row B, keyed to your staff only. Blanking panels, brush strips and cable management are fitted before handover.
A fibre or copper pair from your cabinet to any carrier, exchange port or another tenant in the building. Ordered in the portal, patched by our staff.
Committed bandwidth billed at the 95th percentile, bursting to the full port. A 10 GbE port is $340 per month; a 1 GbE port is included with half and full racks.
The diagram below is live. Nodes drift, and a link is drawn whenever two of them come inside the threshold distance — which is exactly how a mesh behaves when a path is withdrawn and the neighbours pick the traffic up. Drag a pointer or a finger across it to pull a region together.
Nothing in the hall is fed from a single path. A and B come from separate transformers, separate UPS strings and separate distribution boards, and we test the transfer under load on a published schedule.
Two 11 kV incomers from different substations on the Ironvale loop, each able to carry the hall alone. Switching is automatic and logged.
Two independent UPS strings, each sized for the whole load. Battery runtime is eleven minutes at full draw — four times what the generators need to take over.
Three generators for two halls, 72 hours of fuel on site with a refuelling contract on call. Started under load on the first Tuesday of each month.
Four in-row units on a closed cold aisle, any one of which can be pulled for service without moving the intake temperature past 20 °C.
Standard cabinets take 5 kW without special handling. Above that we move you to the high-density row and fit blanking and containment to match.
Every outlet strip reports current per phase. Your portal shows the hourly figure that the invoice is built from — no estimates, no reconciliation.
Aspirating smoke detection under the floor and at ceiling level, inert gas release split by zone so one hall never dumps into the other.
One column per day: its height and colour are the peak load the hall carried that day, and a flat tile means the day passed with nothing above the quiet baseline. The two dips you can find are the scheduled transfer tests.
Measured at the cabinet strip across twelve months, both feeds counted separately.
Blended transit reachability from an outside probe, five-minute samples.
Warmest intake reading of the year, recorded during the July in-row service.
Both on a single upstream, both absorbed by the second path. No customer impact.
You name the people; we issue the level. A badge opens only the doors its level carries, and every swipe is written to a log you can export from the portal for the last 24 months.
Booked at least two hours ahead. A member of our staff meets you at reception, walks you to the cabinet and stays with you. Photo ID is checked and held at the desk.
Badge plus PIN at the mantrap, badge at the aisle door, key at the cabinet. No access to plant rooms, meet-me rooms or another tenant's row.
Adds the two meet-me rooms during working hours, for tenants who terminate their own carrier circuits. Patch changes are logged against your ticket.
No badge at all: you raise a ticket and our technician does the work, with a photo of the front and rear of the unit attached to the ticket before it closes.
We publish the commitment and the credit together, because a number without a credit behind it is a marketing line. Credits are applied to the next invoice automatically once the incident report is closed.
| If the month falls below | Roughly | Credit on the next invoice |
|---|---|---|
| 99.99% network | over 4 minutes down | 5% |
| 99.9% network | over 43 minutes down | 15% |
| 99.0% network | over 7 hours down | 30% |
| Power lost at both feeds | any duration | 50% |
| Intake above 27 °C for an hour | per occurrence | 10% |
210 Ironvale Road was a newspaper print hall until 2014: a slab rated for rotary presses, two 11 kV incomers already in the yard, and a ceiling high enough for containment without cutting into the roof. We took the shell in 2016 and spent two years putting a data hall inside it rather than around it.
Hall 04 opened in 2019 with sixteen cabinets. It now runs thirty-two, with hall 05 framed out next door and due to take its first row next spring. The operations team is eleven people, six of whom have been here since the first rack went in.
We do not sell a tier badge. We publish the feed diagram, the transfer test schedule and the intake log, and we let an engineer read them before signing anything. Everyone who has asked for that has stayed.
We are the floor, the power, the cooling and the cross-connect. We do not sell virtual machines, backup or managed operating systems, so we are never competing with the company renting the rack next to yours.
Cabinet keyed and powered within five working days, cross-connects patched inside one day of the order, and a loading bay slot with a pallet lift booked for the day your hardware arrives.
We moved eleven racks out of a building where the A and B feeds turned out to share one board. Here I was handed the single-line diagram before I asked for it. The transfer test in March did exactly what the schedule said it would.
Cross-connect to a second carrier ordered at 16:00, patched and lit by 11:00 the next morning, with the port and the fibre id in the ticket. That is the part most places quietly take three weeks over.
Remote hands have never taken more than twenty minutes, even at three in the morning. My only complaint is the loading bay: one lift for two halls means you book the slot early on a delivery day.
Tenants at level 2 and above walk in at any hour with a badge and a PIN. The office hours below are for tours, deliveries, contract work and anyone who needs an escort.
