Most bookings here are not one room for one hour. They are a cove in the morning, daylight after lunch and a blackout hour at the end — same crew, same trolleys, one desk to settle up at.
HALIDE ROOMS started in 2014 in one blacked-out unit behind the grain sheds. The lease came with a freight lift and a ceiling high enough to hang a boom, which is most of what a studio is.
Twelve years later there are four rooms under the same roof and a clearing set in the pines that we cut, levelled and cabled ourselves. Nothing here is rented in from someone else — the cove, the grid, the carts and the cage are ours, so when something breaks at 19:00 it gets fixed at 19:00.
We keep one person on the floor during every booking. Not to watch you, but so that a blown modelling lamp, a missing clamp or a nervous client does not become your problem in the middle of a set-up.
The cove was already lit when we arrived, so the first frame happened eleven minutes after call time. That has never happened to me anywhere else.
We ran daylight until three and the black box after, and nobody had to carry a single stand down a corridor. The trolley just followed us.
A head died at half six. It was swapped before my client noticed and it never appeared on the invoice. That is the whole review.

Yes. Every room comes with two 600Ws heads, two stands, a reflector and a set of gels, rigged before your call time. Anything beyond that comes off the gear wall at the day rates shown above, and it is set up for you rather than handed over in a case.
Of course, and there is no surcharge for it. We only ask that anything drawing more than 2 kW is mentioned when you book, so the floor person can put you on the right circuit — the Black Box runs three-phase and the Daylight Loft does not.
Free up to 48 hours before the start. Inside 24 hours we charge half the room rate and nothing for the gear. Moving a date costs nothing at any point as long as the new date is within eight weeks.
A loading bay on the water side opens straight into the freight lift, which takes a full cart without breaking it down. Two crew parking spaces come with every booking; anything larger than a van should be flagged the day before so we can keep the bay clear.
